Seasonal note: Hornet nests become obvious in July and August in Ontario, and are at their largest and most defensive in late summer before dying off with the first hard frosts.

Common questions
Will the nest be reused next year?
Bald-faced hornet nests are not reused, but the same sheltered location often attracts a new queen the following spring, so it is worth noting the spot.
Can I just wait for winter?
If the nest is far from any walkway, that is a legitimate option. If it is near a door, deck, play area or commercial entrance, waiting means months of sting risk.
Are your technicians licensed?
