Rodent control

Rodent Control Services

Rodent work is exclusion work. Trapping alone empties the house for a season; sealing the entry points is what stops next autumn's return.

What we treat

Rodent control — what is covered

We handle house mice, deer mice, Norway rats and roof-line rodent activity for homes, rentals, restaurants and warehouses across the GTA, Hamilton, KWC, Durham & York Region.

Every job starts outside. We follow the foundation, garage door corners, gas and AC line penetrations, dryer vents and roofline for the gaps rodents are actually using, then treat the population inside.

  • House mice in kitchens, basements, drawer cavities and mechanical rooms
  • Norway rats around laneway bins, sewers, decks and compost areas
  • Attic and soffit-line rodent activity
  • Garage-to-house entry gaps and unsealed utility penetrations
  • Restaurants, food premises and warehouses needing documented programs
  • Multi-unit buildings where rodents travel between units

Signs of infestation

What to look for

  • Droppings along walls, under sinks or at the back of kitchen cabinets
  • Gnaw marks on food packaging or plastic storage bins
  • Scratching or scurrying inside walls and ceilings after dark
  • Shredded insulation, paper or fabric used as nesting material
  • A persistent musky smell in a cupboard or utility room
  • Grease smudges along baseboards on regular travel routes
  • Droppings roughly the size of a raisin near garbage or utility areas
  • Burrow holes in soil beside foundations, decks or garden beds

Our process

Inspection, treatment, exclusion, follow-up

  1. 1Interior and exterior inspectionWe map droppings, runways and gnawing inside, then find the entry points outside — anything wider than about 6 mm.
  2. 2TreatmentTamper-resistant control devices and trapping placed along active runways, positioned away from children and pets.
  3. 3Exclusion / proofingWe seal the gaps with materials rodents cannot chew through: steel mesh, sheet metal, mortar and door sweeps.
  4. 4Follow-upA return visit confirms activity has stopped and checks for any route we could not see on the first pass.
  5. 5Written prevention reportYou get a list of what remains to be repaired — grading, vegetation, storage or building defects sustaining pressure.

Why DIY often fails

What goes wrong without a licensed technician

  • Snap traps reduce numbers but do nothing about the hole letting them in
  • Steel wool and foam alone get chewed through within a season
  • Store bait used outdoors can put pets and wildlife at risk
  • Dead rodents in wall voids cause odour and secondary insect problems
  • Attic and soffit entry points are rarely found from the ground

Prevention

Keeping it from coming back

  • Seal gaps around pipes, cables and dryer vents with rodent-resistant materials
  • Replace worn garage door and door sweep seals
  • Keep firewood, compost and bird seed away from the foundation
  • Trim vegetation touching the exterior walls
  • Fix soffit and roofline gaps that give access above the ceiling
  • Repair broken sewer laterals and floor drain covers
  • Seal gaps under decks and sheds with hardware cloth
  • Keep bins off the ground and away from the building line

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Are mice dangerous in winter?

They contaminate food surfaces, gnaw wiring and insulation, and their droppings and urine carry bacteria. Winter is when populations concentrate indoors, so activity gets noticed then.

How much does mice removal cost?

It depends on the size of the property and how much proofing is needed — a single-entry bungalow is very different from a townhouse with shared attics. Call 365-293-5253 for a straight quote after inspection.

Why do mice keep coming back after I set traps?

Because trapping removes the individuals but not the access. Until the entry gaps are sealed, the same route keeps supplying new mice from outside or from an adjoining unit.

How do mice get into a house in Ontario?

Most commonly through utility penetrations, garage door corners, gaps under siding, weep holes, dryer and stove vents, and foundation cracks. Anything wider than about 6 mm is enough.

What areas do you cover?

We serve Toronto and the GTA, Hamilton and Burlington, Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge and Guelph, Durham Region including Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering, and York Region including Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Newmarket and Aurora.

Do you offer same-day or emergency service?

Yes, where the schedule allows. Stinging insects near entrances, rodents in food premises and bed bugs in occupied bedrooms are prioritised. Call 365-293-5253 for the earliest opening.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every treatment program comes with a written service guarantee. If activity persists inside the guarantee window, we return at no additional charge.
