Mosquitoes

Mosquito Reduction for Ontario Properties

Mosquito work is mostly about water. Anything holding water for about a week — a clogged eavestrough, a tarp fold, a saucer under a planter, an unused wheelbarrow — can produce a generation of mosquitoes.

Overview

Mosquito Control in the GTA & southern Ontario

We combine breeding-site removal with targeted treatment of the shaded vegetation and structural areas where adults rest during the day.

This is a reduction service, not eradication. Mosquitoes fly in from surrounding properties and ravines, so we are honest about what a treatment can and cannot achieve.

Signs

Signs to look for

  • Biting activity concentrated at dusk on patios and decks
  • Mosquitoes resting in shaded shrubs, under decks and along fence lines
  • Standing water in gutters, bins, tarps, toys or plant saucers
  • Worse activity on properties backing onto ravines or storm ponds

Our process

How we handle it

  1. 1Property walkWe locate the standing water and shaded harbourage driving the activity.
  2. 2Source reductionSpecific list of water sources to remove, drain or correct.
  3. 3Harbourage treatmentTargeted application to resting sites in vegetation and structural shade.
  4. 4Timing planFor events or peak season, we advise when treatment gives the most benefit.

Before we arrive

How to prepare

  • Empty containers, saucers and toys holding water
  • Clear eavestroughs and check tarps and covers
  • Give access to the full yard perimeter
  • Tell us about vegetable gardens, ponds and pollinator plantings

Prevention

Keeping it from coming back

  • Drain or refresh standing water weekly
  • Keep eavestroughs and drainage clear
  • Thin dense shaded shrubbery near seating areas
  • Use fans on patios — mosquitoes are weak fliers

Seasonal note: Ontario mosquito pressure builds from late May, peaks in July and August, and drops off through September. Treatment before an outdoor event is a common request.

FAQ

Common questions

Will treatment eliminate mosquitoes in my yard?

No. Adults migrate in from surrounding land. A well-executed program noticeably reduces biting pressure in the areas you use, but it does not create a mosquito-free property.

How long does a treatment last?

It depends on rainfall, heat and how much breeding habitat exists nearby, which is why source reduction is the part that makes the biggest long-term difference.

Are your technicians licensed?

Yes. Pest control in Ontario is regulated, and any pesticide application we perform is carried out by a licensed exterminator working within Ontario's Pesticides Act and the product label.

Do you serve both homes and businesses?

We handle mosquito work for houses, condos and apartments as well as commercial properties such as restaurants, offices, retail units and multi-unit residential buildings.

What areas do you cover?

The Greater Toronto Area — Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering and Ajax — plus Hamilton, Kitchener–Waterloo–Cambridge and London.

How do I get a price?

Call 365-293-5253 or send the inspection request form. We ask what you're seeing, where, and for how long, because the size of the property and the extent of the activity drive both the treatment plan and the cost.
