- Secure garbage and organics in bins with intact lids
- Clear dense ground cover and stored material from along the foundation
- Pick up fallen fruit and spilled bird seed
- Give us access to the yard, garage and any crawl space
Prevention
Keeping it from coming back
- Repair broken sewer laterals and floor drain covers
- Seal gaps under decks and sheds with hardware cloth
- Keep bins off the ground and away from the building line
- Avoid open compost in areas with known activity
- Fix roofline and vent damage on properties with mature trees
Seasonal note: Rat activity in Ontario is visible year-round but peaks in autumn as they seek shelter, and again during nearby construction or road work at any time of year.

Common questions
How is rat control different from mice control?
Rats are neophobic — wary of new objects — so devices often need days before they are accepted, and control leans harder on burrow treatment, exclusion and sanitation.
Can you get rid of rats if my neighbour has them too?
We can protect and treat your property, but lasting results in a row of attached homes usually needs the neighbouring properties addressed as well. We will tell you honestly what we are seeing.
Are your technicians licensed?
Yes. Pest control in Ontario is regulated, and any pesticide application we perform is carried out by a licensed exterminator working within Ontario's Pesticides Act and the product label.
