- 1Check under the kitchen sinkLook at the back corners and around the pipe penetration. Droppings here usually mean the mice are travelling inside the cabinet run.
- 2Pull out the bottom drawerDrawer cavities are a favourite runway. Droppings or shredded paper in the cavity indicates regular traffic.
- 3Look behind and under the fridge and stoveWarm motor areas attract nesting. Check the drip tray and the floor behind the appliance.
- 4Inspect the basement or utility room perimeterFollow the wall line with a flashlight. Droppings concentrated in one stretch point toward the entry side.
- 5Check the garage door cornersThe bottom corners of the garage door seal are one of the most common entry points in GTA housing.
- 6Look at every pipe, wire and vent entry outsideAnything wider than about 6 mm is enough. Note gaps at gas lines, AC lines, dryer vents and hose bibs.
- 7Check stored food and pet foodGnawed packaging or pet food spilled behind a bin confirms a food source is sustaining them.
